This was a fun and special project for me because I made this hacksaw for my dad as a birthday gift. The saw is made out of a 42CrMo4 tool steel that is not hardened. It is a tough steel that allowed me to keep the weight of the saw down to a minimum, without compromising on strength. The blade is tensioned by turning on the tensioning lever that has a small brass rivet as a detail and a brass washer for smooth tensioning of the blade.
