Eclipse standing lamp
This standing floor light I built during my apprenticeship, for a project given to me by my school in Eckernförde. The objective was to build a free standing lamp that emits a soft, warm light. I had the idea of using a half blackened light bulb to create light that reflects off of a copper surface, producing a warm, mild light. The copper plate was sanded by hand to create circular scratches, after which I used an acetylene torch to heat the plate in certain areas to produce the discoloration. The rest of the Lamp is made out of mild steel that was sealed with an oil wax.
